I · Brief
The problem.
Existing status pages either looked like a GitHub repo or cost $200/month. The engineering teams I knew wanted neither.
II · Build
What I shipped.
A minimal status page service — public pages, private incidents, slack/webhook bridges.
Go backend, HTMX frontend (no JS bundle), Cloudflare edge, Timescale for uptime data.
The fewer features, the fewer reasons to churn. Beacon's entire product fits on one page of docs.
