S Scribe
Anno MMXXVI · Folio iv
Scribe is not, strictly speaking, an OCR service. It is a receipt translator, a book-keeper in miniature, a junior with a keyboard who makes three hundred and sixty entries an hour without once asking for a break. It reads the image. It guesses the numbers. It shows its work, and then it asks for a single keystroke to go on.

A scribe
for your ledger.

Built for accounting firms and bookkeepers who were OCR-ing receipts and then manually fixing thirty percent of them. Scribe makes the fix part quiet. One reviewer on Scribe does six hundred receipts an hour instead of sixty.

Chapter III

What keeps Scribe awake at night.

i.

Claude for extraction

Every receipt is passed to a Claude vision prompt with a tight JSON schema. Claude returns the merchant, date, line items, subtotal, tax and total — or it flags the field it isn't sure about.

ii.

Keyboard-first review

The reviewer sees the receipt on the left, the extraction on the right, and a single shortcut to approve, edit, or escalate. No mouse needed. No dropdowns.

iii.

Xero & QuickBooks

Approved entries land in the client's accounting tool within two seconds, already categorised. The reviewer is a copy editor, not a data-entry clerk.
